POPOSOAP Pond Pump and Filter REVIEW and TEST- Great for a LIVE Bait TANK!

Well hey guys, Billy fishing with Odad. And we got another review for you here. And you're probably wondering what's in the box, Mr. Bell? Well, I'll show you. Yeah, this was sent to me by a company called Popo Soap. Yeah, kind of a strange name but anyway, Popo Soap, and they wanted to send me one of two items to review. And I thought, well what in the world could I do with them? And uh I thought, well, I asked my son and he said, "No, I don't really have need for it." I thought he would, but he doesn't. And he said, "Dad, I know something you can do with it." So I decided to go with option number one, and I'll show you what it is.

Pump Filter Kit Unboxing

Pump Filter Kit Unboxing

Pump filter kit! Yeah, that's what it says there, and there it is on the back. And I go, well what can I do with it, son? And he said, "Dad, all you can do with it is make a..." I don't have a pond. He's got a pond. I thought maybe he could use it, but no he doesn't, doesn't need it. Anyway, so he said, "What you can do is make your own live uh live bait tank." Yeah, so one of these days that's going to be what this is going to be used for. Um, to set up a live bait tank and have uh minnows in it of different sizes, and I think it would be cool. So yeah, here it is. That's it right there. There's the top. Yeah, bottom end side, woo! Yeah, so I think that would be kind of fun uh when things kind of settle down in our neck of the woods here in East Tennessee. Um, wow, it comes with all kinds of goodies in it. Everything you need to do to make a to make a uh pump and filter for a small pond or uh a big bait tank like I'm going to be doing.

Features and Specifications

Yeah. Yes, it comes from Popo Soap, has a one-year warranty, money back guarantee, a replacement if our water pump doesn't work. Check out our website for design inspiration and other tips for using Popo Soap solar water pump. Okay, let me read what's on Amazon here. Uh, our filter box includes a 660 gallon per hour uh pump, low noise, suitable for ponds of 1,000 gallons or less. Uh, also includes a fountain kit with three water spray nozzles that creates a beautiful display while adding oxygen to the water. That's very important. It uses a sponge. There's two different types of sponge, one coarse and one fine right there. Uh, two different types, they're in the top of the box and then it comes with filter balls uh to help settle out uh larger stuff, and it comes with all kinds of fittings and stuff like that. The spray head, yeah, pretty cool, pretty cool.

What's in the Box

And what's in the box is of course the filter box, the 660 gallon per hour pond pump, uh fountain kit with nozzles and diverter valve, two filter pads, 20 filter balls, um uh outlet and a manual, a one-year warranty and 100% satisfaction guarantee. So, and that's what it looks like set up right there. So when we get water uh really back on and using in our part of East Tennessee, uh we'll be setting this up in a uh in one of my daughter's duck pools, and we'll see how this thing works. Um, yeah, one of these days I'm going to have a tank. I'm not sure where I'm going to put it, uh but yeah, I'd like to have my own bait uh 'cause you cannot get cannot get minnows anywhere where I live for some reason. Uh, I got to travel a long ways away to get minnows or trap them in one of the streams or rivers around here. And at the moment the one river is out of the question. Uh, yeah, if you've been following things in the East Tennessee area in the last couple of weeks, uh you'll know it's impossible. So anyway, so that's what we're going to do. So yeah, there it is. Um, pretty cool, pretty cool. Yeah, I got big plans for this. Uh, me and a a good buddy of mine, I think we can put this to good use, yes sir. I think it I think it'll be a fun little project, and I'm anxious to really see how it works. Um, so yeah, thank you Popo Soap and we'll be doing a live demonstration as soon as uh things permit.

Setting Up the Pump Filter

Setting Up the Pump Filter

Well hey everyone, uh we're going to what we're going to do now with the pond filter is put it together and we're going to we're going to put it in a in a pool and see how it works. Uh, yeah and the the plan is like I said before is to maybe one day make a live bait tank. So that would be that would be really cool. Uh, get some minnows, um keep them alive or even small bluegill, uh small sunny something like that, it'd be kind of fun and uh yeah so I think it'd be a great joint project with my fishing buddy or one of my boys. So yeah, let's get it put together and we'll take it outside and test it out in a small swimming pool. There there's a spot for the cord right here. They got it positioned right underneath the hole so you got to make sure that the the outlet for the pump is lines up with the hole in the in the top here. So all right, so all the filter balls are here and we're going to put the filters in. I think there's there's a particular order yeah, they got the blue one on the bottom and then the black one. The blue one is a finer one and then the black one is a more coarse filter, and you put that all together there and snap the things in place.

Testing Different Nozzles

Testing Different Nozzles

You got your you got a bunch of different things you can do with it here. Uh, you can tee off of it to go different directions. Uh, it's it's a diverter valve. You got this one here and you got this taller one right here and then you have this Shorty right here. We'll try them all out and see how they do. Yeah, before messing with this in the water, the pump, unplug it from the outlet. Very, very important just in case there's a short. So yeah, safety tip, safety tip. We're going to put on the diverter valve and the long tube and then this it's going to be a lot higher than we need in the water, but we'll go through the different uh nozzles uh the different spray things and uh see how it does. So, um yeah so we're going to place it in the water. Oh my goodness. Wow, oh there we go. That's kind of cool, kind of like an um kind of like an umbrella. Uh, the valve down here you can adjust uh for more water or less water. The pump is very quiet, very, very quiet.

Performance and Safety

In the background you can hear our ducks. different type of spray head. It doesn't have as many holes in it as this one does. Yeah, this one has a lot of holes in it. The one I just put on has about half that number. Yeah, now that really puts out a lot of water there guys. When you're using an extension cord, use the right size one to plug this in if you got to run power from a longer distance and the length of the cord that comes with the pump. That's very important. So use a use a heavier gauge extension cord than even what this is here. So the longer the distance, the the bigger the gauge of wire you need. Anyway, uh yeah I like it, I like it a lot. Uh, thanks Popo Soap for sending it to me to try out and uh yeah, I hope you like the video and what can I say about it? It would be great for a small pond of I think they said 1,000 gallons. Um yeah, mine's going to be a big uh like stock tank uh rectangular kind of oval shape longer than wide and uh yeah, I'm going to try to uh have some minnows in there and maybe some small sunfish. So I think it'd be great for for fishing. Um ornamental ponds this would be great.

Versatility and Final Thoughts

Yeah, hey one thing guys uh with all the different little uh adapters and things that they have in this in the bag uh that comes with, you can even connect uh PVC tubing uh to the to the port just below the diverter valve. Um yeah, and run it run it to another place. So you could have like a waterfall, have your fountain going and a small waterfall at the same time. So yeah, it's uh pretty versatile. They got a lot of good things in the Box for a decent price. Uh, I think you'd be I think you'd be happy with it. Uh, I don't know about what the longevity is of this pump uh but uh uh you know that remains to be seen when I really get it into action here. Uh, probably next year won't do it this winter, but next spring I think it'll be a great thing. So anyway yeah, thanks y'all for watching.
